Sunbathing in the Rain

I wrote the poems in this collection well over a decade ago - I had walked out on my (very established) mortgage, relationship, & career-bound life in the UK, and was moving around Australia and New Zealand, travelling for the first time at the age of almost 40. I felt so many changes & shifts, & enjoyed such a deep well of transformative experiences back then. At the same, I was re-examining everything I had known to be true, especially the identity/ies I had worn my life long.Sharing these poems publically, now, at a much later date, when life has again solidified into a kind of stasis, feels like I'm being given the opportunity to re-visit that spark of possibility that it seems to me exists for all of us, at any time, should we just take one simple step towards it.
